Niskayuna Central School District community members are encouraged to attend community budget forums scheduled for March 4 and March 15 to provide valuable input into the development of a 2014-15 school budget and planning for future years.
The March 4 forum will begin at 6 p.m. It will be an opportunity to learn more and engage in a conversation about some of the key questions and topics from a February 12 forum, including fund balance, administrative structure, and revenue generation. (The presentation and notes from the February 12 meeting can be found here.
The March 4 forum will be held in the auditorium at Van Antwerp Middle School, and will be followed by the Board's regular meeting.
A community budget forum will also be held on Saturday morning, March 15, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. This forum has been scheduled on a Saturday morning to provide an additional opportunity for as many residents as possible to attend and participate in the budget development/input process.
If you plan to participate in one or both of the forums, please RSVP by calling the Superintendent's Office at 377-4666, option 4, or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also register online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Niskayuna-March-forums.
Everyone is welcome at the forums. Please confirm your attendance ahead of time to help the district plan for facilitators and appropriate space for group discussions.
"As we plan for next year and for the years that follow, it is important to hear from the many voices in our community," Superintendent Susan Kay Salvaggio said. "Please be part of this process."
