The 10th annual celebration and performance of poetry and acoustic music was held at the HS Java Jive, Friday, April 4th in the High School Cafeteria. What started as an Iroquois Middle School event has now become a tradition for the high school English Department. Junior, Samir Menon and Sophomore, Sawyer Harrinton-Verb served as emcees for the night introducing each performer and entertaining the crowd. Over 100 parents and students enjoyed a variety of performances. Some students gave dramatic readings of original poetry or published poetry. Others played the piano, guitar, or sang popular songs. The Creative Writing club hosted the event and chose to send the $500.00 proceeds to the Malala Fund. A special thank you to English teachers Carol White and Annemarie Ihnatolya for their efforts planning this event.

Student performers were: Regina Foley, Erin Corah, Mike Vassolas, Sanya Mittal, Delia Ofori, Emma Sarnacki, Alice Hollacher, Gyle Ben-Ami, Safiyyah Stewart, Greg Diebold, Jerry Arul, Caroline Metzger, Samir Menon, Stephanie Acquario, Cassie McDonald, Isly McDonald, Sonja Dahl, Eileen Ofori, Ethan Schalekamp, Jonathan Rettig, Alex Mancuso, Fallon Jung, Brittany Feuerstein, Sophie Kemp, Lucy Medina, Ben Burke, Lex Alston, Olivia Hess, Abby Diel, Olivia Mancuso, Macaela Rourke, Jonathan Mannato, Alex Betancourt-Perez.
