At its June 26 meeting, the Board of Education approved a one-year
extension of the contract of Superintendent Susan Kay Salvaggio.
Salvaggio's original three-year contract was due to expire at the end of the upcoming 2013-14 school year. The one-year extension takes the contract through the 2014-15 year. The agreement extends all the terms and conditions of the initial contract.
In light of her role leading the district through this difficult fiscal period, Salvaggio is entering her third year with the district with an actual salary that is lower than her first year due to voluntary furlough days. As a result, her initial salary of $192,000 is actually $189,785 for 2012-13 and the upcoming 2013-14 year.
The one-year extension did not contain a salary increase for the 2014-15 year.
