Register NOW for 2015 Summer Enrichment Program

FOUR week-long sessions to be held July 6 - August 31

Computer programming, web design, mosaic tile art and college prep courses are just some of the unique skill-building opportunities Niskayuna students will be able to explore this summer as part of the 2015 Summer Enrichment Program.

The program has offerings for students in Grades 2-12. The tuition-based courses blend academic subjects with hands-on exploration, and will be taught by Niskayuna teachers and instructional staff members.

Each course is geared toward a particular age range. There are 17 courses in all, spread over four week-long sessions from July 6 to July 31.

The 2015 Summer Enrichment Program brochure is available here [PDF]. It will also be shared by each school in the district and is available on the district website, in school offices, and in community locations.

The courses were designed by the Niskayuna teachers and staff members who will lead them. Courses are offered either during a morning session or an afternoon session.

This is the second year this program has been offered to Niskayuna students. The Summer Enrichment Program was introduced in 2014 in response to community interest in student enrichment opportunities beyond the traditional school year. This year's program was designed, in part, with input received from through a parent survey. The Summer Enrichment Program is run through the district’s Office of Instruction and Continuing Education program, and is being coordinated by Pamela Ober, who oversees Continuing Education in the district.

The cost to participate in each course is $150. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first served basis, and students may take more than one course. The program brochure includes a registration form with more detailed instructions.

The registration deadline for the 2015 Summer Enrichment Program is May 1, 2015.
