Niskayuna High School has been ranked No. 26 on Newsweek magazine's list of
America's Best High Schools, published this week.
The high school is the top-performing school in the Capital Region and No. 6 in New York State in the rankings.
Congratulations to Niskayuna High School, along with all Niskayuna faculty and staff, students, parents, and the community on this exciting news!
The rankings are based on a "college readiness" score developed by the magazine, which takes into account six factors: graduation rate; a weighted Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate exam composite; a weighted SAT/ACT composite; a "holding power" measure that accounts for changes in enrollment; and the counselor-to-student ratio.
"Newsweek's 2014 Rankings highlights schools that do the absolute best job of preparing students for college," the magazine wrote. "This year, our methodology is more stringent than ever with new measures of quality and a higher standard for data."
