The Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education is beginning the
search for the next superintendent of schools. The search process is being
coordinated by Capital Region BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Charles Dedrick.
The Board of Education and Dr. Dedrick have established a
comprehensive timeline for the search,
which will incorporate participation from school district stakeholders.
In this initial phase of the process, community members will be asked about the qualities and personal attributes they would like the next superintendent to have, both through an online survey and community forums. The survey will be online from November 10 through December 10. A total of four community stakeholder feedback forums have been scheduled on November 12 and November 20 at the following times and locations:
The application materials and brochure for the position will be posted in
late November. In the meantime, the Board has initiated a "nominating process,"
by which the names of possible candidates for the position can be forwarded to
Dr. Dedrick. This is part of an effort to make sure that the field of candidates
is as strong as possible - and to be sure that all potential candidates have an
opportunity to learn more about the district and the position.
Community members can see the full search timeline and view key documents as they are available at www.niskayunaschools.org/SuptSearch.
The search consultant service of Capital Region BOCES carries no additional cost for the district.
