As part of our first grade health curriculum, first graders have been
learning about good dental health habits. On Tuesday, Feb. 23, Lisa Kaminski,
dental health educator from Capital District Pediatric Dentistry, paid a visit
to the first graders at Hillside Elementary School.
Students learned about good tooth brushing habits, with help from Clyde, a horse puppet. They also discussed healthy snack options, and how cutting down on the number of between-meal snacks can help reduce tooth decay. At the end of the program, students received brand new toothbrushes and were eager to try them out.
