First-graders at Hillside Elementary School had the chance to explore
different types of simple machines during a presentation by the
Scotia-Glenville Traveling Museum on March 23.
Students participated in hands-on activities to learn more about simple machines such as the lever, pulley, inclined plane, wedge, screw and the wheel and axle.
The Traveling Museum presentations strive to bring STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) focused programming to classrooms in a creative manner to encourage learning and imagination.
