Another successful Java Jive at Iroquois features spoken word, song and an intercontinental poetry reading

The 15th Java Jive event at Iroquois - an "open-mic-poetry-coffeehouse-night-of-awesomeness" as teacher Laurie Farinia put it - raised $800 for the Best Buddies Program on Friday, May 6, and featured original poetry and acoustic music from students and teachers.

This year's Java Jive included a special collaboration with students in Rosehill Secondary College in Niddrie, Victoria, Australia, made possible by technology. Iroquois students and their Australian friends - connecting at 10 in the morning local time - collaborated on original poems and read them live at Java Jive.

Congratulations to all on a fun and successful event!
