This year, the district is utilizing its Parent Portal to provide parents
with online access to individual student results on the assessments students
currently in grades 4-9 took last spring. This new approach allows the district
to provide parents with the results earlier than if they were mailed.
Results from the New York State Education Department are now available for English Language Arts and Mathematics assessments, along with science assessments taken by students in grades 4 and 8 last spring.
The results are posted in the "Student Portfolio" section of the Parent Portal, which is located in the page listing on the left hand side of the home screen.
Middle school parents received information about how to access the Parent Portal with the back-to-school mailing from their child’s school. Parents of students in grades 4 and 5 recently received a letter with an Access ID and Access Password enabling them to log-in to the portal.
To establish an account: Click on the "Create Account" tab on the Niskayuna Parent Portal log-in page (https://powerschool.niskyschools.org) and use the access information provided.
The recent letter to parents in grades 4 and 5 also contained information about how to view the results if they already have a Parent Portal account for at the middle or high school level.
Any parent who needs assistance can contact their child’s school or e-mail the PowerSchool support team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The district will mail a hard copy of the reports to parents who do not have access to a computer or do not log-in to see the results by mid-October.
