To our Niskayuna
The New York State Education Department and the Governor's Common Core Task Force are seeking feedback on the Common Core learning standards and their implementation in our state.
As state leaders consider what the next round of changes to education policy in New York will look like, it would be a shame if they did not have the benefit of insights from Niskayuna teachers, parents, residents and students. Please take a few minutes to provide feedback through the following links.
The Governor's Task Force on Common Core is charged with performing a comprehensive review of learning standards, instructional guidance and curricula, and tests. You can submit ideas, testimony, and even share your story at https://www.ny.gov/programs/common-core-task-force.
New York State Education Commissioner Mary Ellen Elia's "Aim High NY" survey seeks feedback on specific standards. You don’t need to comment on every standard, but may wish to provide input in certain areas. You can take the survey at http://www.nysed.gov/aimhighny.
Both surveys will be open through November 30.
