The Niskayuna School Library Media Department cultivates programming that serves students of all ages, as well as teachers, administrators and other staff members in order to encourage active, authentic learning vital to helping our students become information-literate lifelong learners.
Our libraries are the central information hubs of each school. Our librarians have developed a curriculum to help students gain the knowledge, skills and resources that will enable them to become independent critical readers and thinkers who can acquire, use, create and share information.
A love of reading is important to us! We start early to promote a love of reading through our Preschool Story Hour and 1000 Book Kid programs. At the middle and high school levels, students are encouraged to utilize our large collections of print and ebooks for pleasure reading and research. At all levels, our library staff are available and willing to support intellectual growth.
