The Music Department organized a game of musical chairs that brought high school students together for a fun activity with a charitable purpose. The event raised $800 in donations to the AVSI Foundation. The foundation is supporting the Syria-Turkey earthquake relief effort and carries out humanitarian aid projects in 39 countries.
Students volunteered to sell tickets to the game and local businesses donated prizes for participants.
“We talked about being aware of issues beyond what we can see just in front of us,” said Christina Pizzino-Catalano, director of choral studies. “Students learned how we can help support those in need even though we may be far away or not personally connected.”
